How to prepare for a trial
Good sleep, the right kit and a calm mind: success at a trial starts with preparation.
A trial is your chance to show a club or an academy how you play with their own eyes. A few simple steps help you be at your best.
A few days before
Sleep enough, eat as usual and do not overload your body with new, heavy training. Find out what format the session will have and who the coach will be.
What to bring
- boots for two kinds of surface (if you do not know the pitch)
- shin guards
- water
- a spare kit
At the trial
Arrive early, introduce yourself to the coach and be polite. Play simply and for the team: scouts rate decisions, communication and effort, not only individual skill.
After a mistake
Everyone makes mistakes. What matters is getting back into the game quickly. That is exactly what shows character.
On ScoutPro
You will find trial listings on the "Trials" page. You apply with one button, and your application automatically carries your player card and the video you choose. When the club accepts it, the contacts open for both sides.
