A highlight video: 5 simple rules
A short, clear and honest video often tells more than a long edit.
Video is the strongest part of a player profile. On ScoutPro you can add up to five videos with a YouTube link, and they play right on the site. These five rules help make sure a scout watches to the end.
1. Start with your best
The first 15-20 seconds decide a lot. Put your strongest moment at the very beginning.
2. Keep it short
Two to four minutes is enough. Long videos are rarely watched to the end.
3. Show who you are
The scout has to know which player to watch. Mark yourself before each clip, or write your shirt number and colour in the video description.
4. Variety
Show moments from different matches: attacking, defending, passing, play without the ball. Clips of one kind look repetitive.
5. Quality and honesty
The footage should be clear, without heavy effects or loud music. Add the date and the level of the match.
When you offer yourself to a club or a scout, you can choose which video goes with your card. So put your best video first in your profile.
